This painting is a contemplation of the womb as a space of potential for growth and transformation. Thinking about the bellybutton as a doorway from outside world to private inner realm, and the magic of making something over a nine month gestation period, and how this sits beside the process of making paintings and giving birth in this way, again and again, over the period of a lifetime, within an artistic practice.

This work was exhibited at Bus Projects as part of the 2023 Fundraiser exhibition.
