Rebecca Hall, Haneen Mahmood Martin, Gabriella Bartolo-Kanellopoulos, Tom Stoddard Pang Launch

Dates: Thursday 13 February, 6pm

Join us at Bus Projects on Feb 13 to launch Pang, featuring readings from Rebecca Hall and Tom Stoddard.

Pang is a publication of personal essays that are centred on affective responses to the visual world — that is, visual material that elicits an immediate, physical, emotional response, and using that “panged” feeling as a jumping-off point into wider exploration into how art, media, aesthetics, and the wider world around us can move us, shift our perceptions (of the self, or of culture, social paradigms, political understandings, history), enable critical thinking, and experience pleasure, disgust, and revelation.

By using a visceral feeling as a starting point, it is hoped that these feelings will translate into the writing itself, and offer a different angle by which to consider and discuss the visual world.

Held at: Bus Projects (Ground Floor, 7 Little Miller Street, Brunswick East, VIC 3057)

Pang will be available to purchase on the night, in three formats. Premium risograph copies for $15, hand-bound laser print for $5, and PDF for $2. To purchase a copy after the launch, a DM can be sent to @toms.gfx on Instagram or email tomstoddard1@gmail.com. All proceeds from sales go towards the production, printing, and paying of writers for the publication.

25 premium copies will be available on the night, with a printing waitlist to be set up upon selling out.
