A Decadent Defecation: In Conversation, David Attwood and Amelia Winata

Join artist David Attwood and curator Amelia Winata as they discuss A Decadent Defecation, Attwood’s latest exhibition for Bus Projects.

David Attwood is an artist based in Melbourne. His practice includes work in sculpture, photography, performance, drawing, public intervention and exhibition-making. Recent projects include En-suite, Island Island, 2018; Human Shit, Kyneton Contemporary Art Triennial, Kyneton, 2018; My Beloved’s Shit, Billboard in North Melbourne, 2018; and Two Harpic Lemon Toilet Rim Blocks, un Magazine Issue 11.2, 2017. Attwood holds a practice led Doctorate from Curtin University.

Amelia Winata is a Melbourne-based writer and curator. She is a Phd candidate in Art History at the University of Melbourne. She was the 2017 Sub-editor of un Magazine and has written for numerous contemporary arts publications including Memo Review, Art Guide, Art Monthly Australia, CACSA Broadsheet and Art Collector. Curatorial projects include Wayfind (2018) as part of the Next Wave x West Space co-commssion; Can’t Look, Can’t Look Away at the Counihan in Brunswick (2016) and In the Epoch of the Near and Far for Channels: The Australian Video Art Festival (2015). Amelia was a 2015 recipient of the Gertrude Contemporary Emerging Writers Program.
