‘Actual Size’ is an exhibition concerned with the designed supports for exhibition making. Logos and publications and floor plans and essays and furniture and entries and exits and reading and writing and documenting and recording and remembering and paper and ink and vinyl and glue and staples and spots and varnishes and interacting and chairs and tables and bookshops and bookshelves and bookends and posters as books and books as objects and objects with pages and curation is a design practice and deadlines and paragraph arrangements are spatial too and editions limited or otherwise and stacks of please take me I’m free and speeches and discussions and where the windows are specifically situated in relation to the work and my studio is out the back and you can go in there too if you like and feel free to have a glass of water while you look and read and touch and feel and feel and feel.

Adam Cruickshank is a Melbourne-based artist who has also lived in London, Port Moresby, Berlin, the Netherlands and Malaysia. Cruickshank works across installation, sculpture, video, drawing and publishing. Recent solo exhibitions include; ‘Everything Far Away Can Be Near Again’, Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts (2014); ‘Paradise Is Like Where You Are Now Only Much Much Better’, Frankston Art Centre Cube 37 (2013); ‘The Half-Asleep Pilgrim’, West Space (2012). Group exhibitions include; ‘Small Time/True Belief’, c3 Contemporary (2014); ‘The Social Life of Things’, MADA Gallery (2012); and ‘Dodecahedron’ at Platform Contemporary (2012).
